This year was my first ever soundest ever. Since it was at the MN fairgrounds it was much more accessible to me, and the line up was a great mix of local and national acts. The day started off with DJ Tiiiiiiiiiip accompanied by Allan Kingdom, Bobby Raps, and many more for a set. Next, Blueprint played on the North Main Stage for a quick set. I then went over to the Fifth Element Stage for Baby Shel, Lexii Alijai, and Finding Novyon who all brought some great, live, energy! From there, I made my way back to the South Main Stage for Anderson Paak who was filled charisma and exciting energy. Next up was Lizzo right next door, the big GRRRL definitely brought some big energy in her set accompanied by her back up dancers. Danny Brown hit the stage and played an energetic 30min set before Machine Gun Kelly. There was very few dull moments in Kelly's set from when he came out in a fur coat until he scaled the stage beam to hang upside down. Following MGK, Prof took the South Stage and played a classic Prof set ending not with him crowd surfing, but crowd rafting! Gampo himself, got in a large life raft and floated around the crowd of thousands. Hip Hop legend, Common was up next on the North Stage and he brought some amazing vibes to the festival. From Common I ran back to the Fifth Element Tent for Domo Genesis (formerly a part of OFWGKTA) and Post Malone. Back at the South Stage, hometown favorite, Atmosphere played a great set that consisted of plenty of Slug's classics. The crowd began to gather for the headliners to play, thats when the iconic Roots began. The Roots had many instruments on stage and produced a nice funky sound for the festival, filled with covers of Prince and more. As the night began to wind down, at 7:00 Future Hendrix played a fun set filled with all sorts of his many chart topping hits, including songs from his collaboration album with Drake. To end Soundset's 9th year, A$AP Rocky took the stage to end the night, even though the crowd had been tired and on their feet all day, this didn't matter for Pretty Flacko's set. It was the perfect way to end the night with his diverse set. I can't wait for next year, enjoy the images and make SURE to check out these amazing artists.

Art-A-Whirl 2016
On Saturday I went to he annual Art-A-Whirl festival in North East Minneapolis. It was a great time with a lot of positive energy. First band I saw Bad Bad Hats at Bauhaus Brewing along with Jeremy Messersmith. I then walked a mile to Dangerous Man Brewing to catch Mike Mictlan's set with a guest appearance from the man, P.O.S. From there I walked back to 612 to see Mac Irv and Greg Grease closed out the night.
